SMS messaging terms & opt-in

Last updated: June 14, 2026

bedflow is a CRM used by behavioral-health treatment facilities to manage referral partners, intake coordination, and alumni follow-up. When a facility staff member uses bedflow to send a text message to a referral partner, contact, patient, or alumnus, those messages are delivered through our SMS provider (Twilio). This page explains how that works, what consent looks like, and how to stop receiving messages.

Program description

The bedflow SMS program is used by facility staff to send the following types of one-to-one, conversational text messages:

  • Referral coordination: confirming receipt of a referral, requesting clinical or insurance details, and coordinating admit logistics with referral partners (hospitals, interventionists, EAPs, therapists, sober livings, drug courts, discharge planners).
  • Partner relationship outreach: first-touch introductions, scheduled check-ins, and follow-up after a visit or referral.
  • Alumni follow-up: recovery check-ins, milestone messages, and event invitations, only to alumni who have not opted out.
  • Internal task reminders: reminders sent by a facility to its own staff users for follow-up tasks and decision-pending leads.

Messages are never sent automatically without a facility user composing or approving them. bedflow does not send marketing or promotional SMS.

How you opt in

You opt in to receive SMS from a bedflow-using facility in one of the following ways:

  • You are a referral partner contact who has shared your mobile number with the facility for the purpose of coordinating patient referrals (verbally, in a written intake form, on a business card, or through a partner agreement).
  • You are a patient, family member, or alumnus who provided your mobile number to the facility during admission, discharge planning, or alumni enrollment, and you agreed to be contacted by text.
  • You are a staff user of the facility and the facility's administrator added your mobile number to bedflow for task and on-call reminders.
  • You reply START or YES to a previous opt-out from the same sender.

Consent to receive SMS is never a condition of purchase or of receiving treatment services.

How to opt out

You can stop receiving SMS from a bedflow-using facility at any time by replying STOP to any message from that sender. You will receive one final confirmation message and then no further texts from that sender unless you opt back in. You can also reply HELP at any time to receive contact information for the sending facility.

Message frequency, fees, and carriers

  • Frequency varies by relationship. Active referral coordination may produce several messages in a single day; alumni check-ins are typically monthly or less.
  • Message and data rates may apply. bedflow and the sending facility do not charge you to receive SMS, but your mobile carrier may charge for messages or data based on your plan.
  • Supported carriers in the United States include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, US Cellular, and most regional carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy

bedflow does not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers, opt-in data, or SMS message content with third parties for marketing purposes. Phone numbers and messages are accessible only to authorized staff of the facility that collected them, and to the sub-processors required to deliver the messages (currently Twilio). See our privacy policy for the full detail, including how protected health information is handled.

Contact

For questions about a specific message you received, contact the facility that sent it directly. Its name and phone number appear in the message. For questions about bedflow's SMS program overall, email support@usebedflow.com.
